I like the size and structure of the tool and the way it is made, but I was disappointed that it did not pick up enough soil sample for me to judge the moisture at different depths. Most of the time it only picked up about an inch of soil at the bottom of the probe no matter how much I twisted it or did not twist it or how deep I pushed the probe in the ground. maybe I don't know how to use it!!

Works great for testing soil for moisture. Needed it for trees and shrubs. Living in Arizona it is tough to figure the water amounts without being able to test the soil. Top always looks dry so having the probe is ideal. Would just like to find one that goes lower into soil for trees. Step on the probe keeps that from being able to be done.

We believe that in the long run it will save the agency some $$$$$ - In the past we kept our sprinklers on until a heavy rain. Now we check the soil for moisture and turn the water off or leave it on.
