Comments about Antex Electronics Antex Pipemaster Pro Soldering Tool:

The manufacturer does not have a guarantee or warranty. Professional Equipment has a return policy of 30 days.

First, the heads have shims in them that are not interchangeable. Also, you have to mark a head so that you can put it on the same heating element shaft that it came with. Otherwise, you will have a loose head and a tight one.

Second, before you turn the Pipemaster on you have to align the heads. I had one heating element shaft about an 1/8" longer than the other.

Third, if you have a reducing fitting in the attic, crawl space or under a cabinet you have to solder the one pipe, wait for 15 minutes to cool down the tool then install the different sized heads and heat it up again.

Fourth, you have to take off the heads after every job.

If you follow the directions, it is a good tool for working in tight spaces.

I bought the Pipemaster Pro but I returned it. I bought a Ridgid RT-100, instead. See my review of that tool.

Comments about Antex Electronics Antex Pipemaster Pro Soldering Tool:

It's very slow, not nearly as efficient as stated in the description. You must be patient and do not apply alot of pressure on the handles or the rods bend when hot.

Comments about Antex Electronics Antex Pipemaster Pro Soldering Tool:

[...] I do not feel that this is a worthwhile investment for my work. I purchased the tool for the reasons stated on the listing, such as reducing the danger of starting fires when soldering in close quarters. However the following problems keep me from recommending this tool to anyone: With the clip on heads mounted on round shafts it allows the heads to rotate, keeping the tool from maintaining a good alignment and complete contact all the way around the pipe. The shafts themselves are also weak and will bend if you squeeze the handles a little too hard also causing poor alignment. This makes it very frustrating to get a good solder joint when the heads are moving all over the place because they won't stay aligned.
