These AOSafety safety glasses work in different light conditions so there is no need for using several different pairs of safety glasses throughout the day or for different applications. These are special transition safety glasses that are “UV reactive”. The lenses respond automatically to the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light received, changing from clear to dark in eight seconds and returning from dark to clear in 35 seconds. The hardcoat polycarbonate lenses are abrasion-resistant, absorb 99.9% UV light, and provide 22-77% visible light transmittance.

The safety glasses are designed with a durable frame with spring hinged temples and a soft, adjustable nose bridge for a comfortable fit even after prolonged use. The safety glasses also feature a stylish carbon fiber pattern, nylon brow and magnesium alloy temples. Compliance: ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Impact. Meets Traffic Signal Recognition Requirements of ANSI Z80.3. Photochromic lenses are considered variable tint, special-purpose lenses under ANSI Z87.1 They are not intended to be used as general-purpose filters for protection against infrared radiation hazards typically associated with welding operations.

Note: AOSafety safety glasses are the ideal glasses for outdoor, all-day work, such as utility work, landscaping and construction. They are not recommended for use in occupations that quickly move from one light condition to another, i.e. forklift drivers going from inside to outside.
