The Leightning® Bilsom Ear Muff is a lightweight, comfortable earmuff that features an NRR of 30dB. These amazing earmuffs weight only 10 ounces, yet still provide heavy duty hearing protection. The earmuffs are also designed with a number of construction features that make these extra comfortable, such as special, high density slow recovery foam ear cushions and an independently flexible wire headband. As an automotive sports photographer, i find myself literally feet away from 1000+ horsepower cars with open headers. As such i need the best ear protection money can buy. These are the best i have ever used, not only for sound proof quality, but easy of use, comfort and adjustable fit. In my sport you can only use the best, and these are the BEST.

Works good. Easy to put on and adjust. Not uncomfortable after an hour of wearing them. A little heavy, but not really noticeable. I use them when using power tools, but my 7 year old used them the other day for the 4th of July celebration (he hates loud noises) and was able to enjoy the fireworks for the first time. They fit him pretty well, and they fit my head easily (fairly large head), so they are very adjustable. Overall very happy with them (I have had them a month or so, so I can't speak to longevity yet).

Use them whenever you want to seal out noise. Notably (10db?) BETTER than Bose Active-noise cancellation headphones (comparing over-ear to over-ear, not against open-ear). With in-ear 'earbuds', considerably superior (and cheaper) audio solution than Bose headphones at less than 8% of Bose's QuietComfort2 (which are similar style, foam padding around ear, and over head).
After 5-years+ years of life, they still, subjectively, work 'like new'.

I drive pnuematic tankers which use powerful vaccume / blowers to load and pump out product. The whole process can get very loud which requires ear protection. I've used earplugs in the past but they are a real pain in the... to use all the time.
The Leightning® earmuff's are convienant to use and block out the excessive noise as well as a quality ear plug does and in some cases, better. The only complaint I have is that the The earmuff feels a little too tight on the head at first but you get used to it and don't notice it after awhile.
