Features & Applications:
These Bright Dyes biodegradable fluorescent dye tracers are bright and ecologically safe, and can be used to track and map water flow patterns in bodies of water such as lakes and reservoirs, and also in septic systems and piping. Used for smaller applications under 1000 gal, the FLT Yellow/Green color is excellent for high silt or red clay backgrounds and can be easily detected in clear, deionized water in the range of 100 ppb of active ingredient. The tablets disintegrate quickly in water and are easily traced to very low dilutions.
Bright Dyes biodegradable fluorescent dye tracers may be detected visually, by UV light and by appropriate fluoremetric equipment. This dye fluoresces green (520nm). Bright Dyes Yellow/Green Dye products are specially formulated versions of Xanthene dye, certified by NSF International to ANSI/NSF Standard 60 for use in drinking water. Compliance: FLT Yellow/Green dyes are NSF certified for potable water.
Based on biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) studies, the dye is biodegradable with 65% of the available oxygen consumed in 7 days. The dye is resistant to absorption on most suspended matter in fresh and salt water. However, compared to Bright Dyes FWT Red products it is significantly less resistant to degradation by sunlight and when used in fluoremetry, stands out much less clearly against background fluorescence. As always the suitability of these products for any specific application should be evaluated by a qualified hydrologist or other industry professional.
