These Bright Dyes biodegradable non-fluorescent dye tracers are bright and ecologically safe, and easily detected in clear, deionized water in the range of 100 ppb of the active ingredient. They are ideal for tracking water flow patterns in many bodies of water, as well as reservoirs, septic systems, and piping. The powder dissolves immediately and is typically used for small applications. FLT Blue is frequently used for decorative effects in fountains and pools, for the evaluation of household systems, and where blue may be more acceptable to public view. The blue dye provides visual detection only and cannot be seen under ultraviolet light or through the use of fluorometry.
Bright Dyes FLT Blue products are specially formulated versions of food grade dye FD & C Blue. Bright Dyes FLT Blue products have been certified by NSF International to the ANSI/NSF Standard 60 for use in drinking water.
Based on biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) studies, the dye is biodegradable with 77% of the available oxygen consumed in 7 days. As always the suitability of these products for any specific application should be evaluated by a qualified hydrologist or other industry professional.
