This low priced hygrometer works fine. I placed mine outdoors on a lumber kiln so I had to build a protective box around it. You might want to get a better battery for extended use outside in the cold. I have only had it for a month so I don't know anything about longevity. Accurate readings so far.

The only criticism I have is that the cord for the outside sensor is too short for optimum placement, with the result that the instrument is too close to the window to record accurate indoor data.

Before I put it in my homemade wood kiln I tested for precision of the two readings by leaving both indoor and outdoor sensors in the same environment. They eventually read the same temp and RH (within specs) BUT it took hours!! Do the two sensors use different technology?

Accurate product and nice display. However, it would be much better if the outdoor transmitter had wireless capacity as the cord is not that long and limits where the display can be placed.
