Comments about Extech Instruments Extech Moisture Meter:

The head is locked in place while using, and swivels back when not in use. Problem is, you try to penetrate dense material like plywood, it's too much for the latch that holds it in place. I broke it the first time I used it.

Comments about Extech Instruments Extech Moisture Meter:

I use it to test wood flooring. Probe tip bent on 1st insertion. Tried on another piece of dense wood and it was hard to insert and hinged probe seemed flimsy.
Would be good for gyproc and softer items
I am returning and getting a different model

Comments about Extech Instruments Extech Moisture Meter:

It has to be calibrated before each use and the swivel head is so flimsy you feel like your going to break it if you push too hard and you have to push hard to penetrate any wood you use on it!
Wouldn't recomend for anybody.......save your money and buy a better one...you get what you pay for!

Quit working after less than six months

Comments about Extech Instruments Extech Moisture Meter:

Unit quit working after less than six months, used less than ten times. I assume the calibration went blonko, but it would not recalibrate. For me just another way to throw away money. I wish it had lasted as all I was looking for was a way to say "this spot is wetter than this other spot". I now rely upon my ouija board, which works without batteries.
