I have been volunteering about 30Hrs a week rehabing an old two story home for use as a transient shelter for families or men with children. Since I am a person on the smaller side, I have been doing the crawling under the house and between the floors for electrical rewiring. Under the house is challenging, with all kinds of debris (bricks, pipes, wires boards not to mention all the active air ducts, drains, pipes etc. Even though I brought in rolled plastic for some areas, wore heavy long sleeve shirts, and did my best to remove bricks etc. I was left with elbows missing a lot of skin after each trip under the house. I found these elbow pads on line and gave them a try. I wore them on one mission under the house that lasted about 3 hours and I can say that I had no sore elbows and they stayed in place crawling over all kinds of stuff. I haven't seen any other elbow pads that I think come close to them. They were a bit expensive, but were worth it for the savings in my body. After each trip crawling, they were filthy and we just threw them in the washing machine along with the dirty crawling clothes and they came out looking unharmed except for skuffs on the plastic guards.

I use the pads everyday. I am in all types of crawlspaces which may have rocks, broken bricks, glass and mud. The pads work very well.

The straps are far too short for even an average elbow/arm. Since I only needed this for one elbow, I cut the straps off the other pad and sewed them to the straps on the first pad, making the straps finally long enough to reach around my arm and close. The elbow pad is certainly durable, but is far from comfortable and easily slips out of position. I ended up purchasing and using a different product [...].

I wore these 2 to 4 times a day, every day, for 4 months last summer while inspecting crawl spaces under houses. They were easy and fast to put on and take off. The inside lining is starting to wear thin, but other than that they are great. I haven’t worn any other elbow pads to make a comparison, but if I were to buy another pair, I would buy these. They were comfortable, stayed in place well, and saved my elbows. When they got dirty, I just threw them in the washing machine!
