As a flooring estimator, I use this device a lot. The only space its hard to use for is measuring stair run/ riser. I have measured many homes and businesses using this tool and I have to say it's the best investment I have ever made for my job. I work with two others who do floor estimating and they are getting one each also. I have a hardwood installer who bought a 411d and is very happy with it. Only thing that's wrong with this tool is its ability to function outdoors.

Easy to use, ergonomic, accurate. Saves lots of time & much better than old sonar type meters. Much more accurate & easy to use than sonar. For long runs it is easier to use than a tape line.
The cons are exterior use. I have tried to use for exterior usage, that is why I purchased the longer distance model due to need for a good exterior measuring device. However, that is where it has let me down on two occasions. The glare was so that I could not see the laser dot even 50' away & had to get a tape line out on both occasions & of course the ground was wet at the time of all times.
