At first I was turned off by its size. Once I started using it size wasn't an issue. The lights are great even in bright locations. I would recommend this tester to anyone who needs an outlet tester with a GFCI trip button.

I bought this at a local home inspector conference. Love its size and the easy to see lights. Don't love the fact that it shorted out and is virtually useless after just 2 months of use. We'll see what the replacement policy will be.

Using the Sperry GFCI Tester for a few weeks now, it is a good product and just the right size to fit in the small front pouch of a tool belt. Being in the building inspection business we use the testers daily. I especially like the plastic light covers which do not fall off if you drop it.
Overall good product, I recommend it.

I'm a self-employed residential & commercial building inspector. This is the second 'generation' Ideal-Sperry 'Stop-Shock' tester than I've owned. I purchased 10 first-generation non-GFCI testers on [@] for a few dollars apiece and found out they were probably dumping them cheap because they are not durable. Each one only lasted days or weeks before each one failed. So when I saw this newer Sperry 'Stop-Shock' GFCI-tester Model# HGT6120, I was hoping for an improved design with more durability. Alas, I was mistaken. This tester was much (emphasis on 'much') more expensive and only lasted a couple of weeks before the GFCI-test-function stopped working. The 'circuit-analyze' function and 'ground-analyze' functions still work though. I'll keep using this tester to see how long these particular functions will work, before they go into 'failure-mode' as well....just like the previous generation of 'SS' testers did. I'll have to carry another 'regular' GFCI-tester in my bag along with this one, in the mean-time. NOTE: I have NOT dropped this new tester. That's important to know. I've noticed that the previous 'SS' testers won't survive a 'drop' so I was especially 'careful' not to drop this new model...but it was a fools-errand in the end. New 'technology' is of 'no-value' if it's not 'durable'. Are you listening Ideal*Sperry? Are you listening China!? Are you listening PE? As an adjunct College Professor, I give this tester a 'C' on it's mid-terms AND an 'F' for the course.
