This waterproof dissolved oxygen meter is rugged, water resistant, and will solve the common problems of field use. It is very simple to use: calibration is performed with zero oxygen solution while 100% calibration is done in air. There is no need to use chemical solutions or go through time consuming calibration processes. The polarographic probe will take measurements accurate to 0.2 ppm O2/liter in less than 1 minute and is equipped with a 13' (4m) cable that allows dissolved oxygen measurements to be taken in even hard to reach places. The conic shape of the probe allows it to be used in all BOD5(Biological Oxygen Demand) measurements making it a truly versatile instrument.
Oxygen meters are used to determine the quantity of dissolved oxygen in liquids. Two measurements scales are commonly utilized: parts per million (ppm): or the percentage saturation (%), which is defined as the percentage of oxygen dissolved in 1 liter of water. It is necessary to determine the quantity of dissolved oxygen present in water because it is an indicator of water quality. It is therefore important to monitor civil and industrial wastewater where low concentrations indicate pollution.
