Features & Applications:

This Hanna waterproof multiparameter water quality meter can be used to test pH, conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and temperature, all with a single probe. The unit is equipped with an easy two-button control, and designed with new technology that uses gel electrolyte and a cloth junction for the pH sensor, and graphite for the EC/TDS sensor. This serves to eliminate oxidation and polarization errors. The meter features auto-calibration and auto-temperature compensation, and is built with a waterproof housing rated for IP 67 conditions. It can operate for up to 500 hours on the included four 1.5V batteries. It comes a probe and a hard carrying case. View the full specifications below.

Comments about Hanna Instruments Hanna Waterproof Multiparameter Water Quality Meter - Low Range:

I am a 20+ year professional in the environmental testing field with extensive use of field meters by numerous manufacturers. I take meticulous care of my testing equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy. That said:This is a poorly designed meter with an incredibly short and unreliable probe lifespan. The meter uses a minimum of buttons to access functions and calibration can be a tricky and confusing affair navigating the menu tree. The "user manual" consists of a single printed sheet of paper.Expect the probe to fail at anytime - the probe has an inherent cable design flaw that results in intermittent/unreliable and eventual probe cable connection failure to probe sensors in as little as 10 individual field sample tests. Best case scenario - I haven't had a single $125 probe to last out a year of light-duty service (Less than 100 individual sampling tests each). The probe is not repairable.I have personally contacted Hanna Instruments and communicated my experiences to their customer service department manager. Hanna Instruments is aware and acknowledges the probe design flaw, however, they are taking no steps to rectify the problem other than offering to replace the probe within it's one year warranty period.Personally, I have permanently retired this meter and chalked up the [$] initial investment + $420 annual probe costs (including shipping) to a costly and disappointing experience. When I am conducting field tests, I require reliable, dependable equipment with low annual overhead. The last thing I need is an equipment failure in the middle of a time-sensitive sampling project 50 miles from the office. If you require a reliable and cost effective meter, I STRONGLY advise that you look elsewhere.
