Easy to bait, set and release, this high tensile wire mesh trap is steel reinforced for long life and maximum resistance to damage. The Havahart Double Door Trap has smooth inside edges for the protection of the animal, while the two spring-loaded doors have sensitive triggers to ensure a quick, secure catch. Comments about Woodstream Corp Havahart® Trap, Double Door - 36 x 10 x 12:
1. The doors need a safer way to be opened without exposing my hands near the door area upon release and departure of the critter.
2. The cage is made of a metal mesh. The mesh openings are too large. A critter can reach its paws out and attack the release person. Recommend the mesh be made with smaller openings.
Until these concerns are addressed, I would consider the release protocol unsafe to the operator.
