Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
I love the soil probe. I just wish it had a sheath or harness to carry it around, as I use it a lot. A clip-on sheath would be great.

Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
I use this tool to sample lawn soil. It has saved me so much time over a shovel. I would like it to have a replaceable tip but I don't think it will ever wear and could be sharpened if needed. This tool is so simple but without it the job it performs is much harder.

Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
I believe in using quality tools to help in doing a good quality job. This soil probe is better than others I have used in the past. It is a thicker gauge metal and does not twist or warp when you have to work it into difficult soil. Thanks for a reliable tool !

Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
I have used the JMC sampler to test moisture
levels in my yard. It digs into the soil decently
and brings up a nice plug of dirt.
One negative,however,
is the lack of depth markers built into the sampler. Without inch markings on the sampler, you have to estimate the depth of your sample yourself.
Also, it is sometimes difficult to
push into the soil, in which cases, it would have been nice to have a sampler built to be pushed
into the ground by striking the top with a hammer.
All in all, the JMC sampler is a good deal
for the price offered, although for hard soils,
this may not be the sampler of choice.

Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
I'd like the handle to be longer. In our clay soil it's hard to get the probe more than 6" into the soil without pounding it. But it pulls out a nice bit of soil for checking moisture or other problems.

Comments about Clements Associates JMC Soil Sampler:
The soil sampler was used to provide samples for a chemical company to determine if their insecticide was doing what is supposed to. It did do the job but only because it was used in sandy soils. Because of its length it makes it a bit of challenge to stick the sampler deep into the soil. I would not recommend this to someone who does not weigh more than 100 pounds.
Also, you need more one inch diameter probes.
