This Ratcheting Cable Cutter cleanly cuts copper up to 400 MCM, as well as aluminum and multi-conductor cables up to 600 MCM. This tool features a unique ratchet action which holds the cable tight and allows rapid, straight cuts with minimum effort. It also has a hold-open spring which speeds the cutting action. Large, finger-formed handles have limit guards and a plastic covering for added comfort. The quick-release lever opens the blade at anytime during operation. It can also be locked in the closed position for safe carrying. This tool is not designed for cutting steel or ACSR.

they are great for panel changes and for large cuts. i cut up to 300 mcm for valts and panel changes, its better then the large loppers because its not so bulky and you can handle the wire with out help. the only thing i have against them is that you cant cut through anything harder then copper or aluminium if you do they cause a dent in the blades
