Comments about Professional Equipment Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Detector:

I use this CO detector in the HVAC industry. Mostly to test for failed secondary heat exchangers,by testing for high CO readings in the PVC exaust pipes. But to do that, you need to use the air sampling pump adaptor to prevent high temperature damage of the sensor. The pump adaptor is fairly priced around $30, and a must have for more versatile testing. I've had it for 2 years now. It's been very reliable for testing for carbon monoxide in general. I like that you can calibrate the scale. The only con I have is the high cost for replacement sensors. Which run about $85. I fairness I haven't had to replace the sensor yet but I don't use it alot. compared to more expensive CO detectors I think its a good buy.

Comments about Professional Equipment Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Detector:

Wanted to use to monitor ambient CO during CAZ testing. I found the continuous chirping annoying and would prefer no noise until 35 ppm. After using it twice the unit would no longer zero and was more or less useless.

Comments about Professional Equipment Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Detector:

I have used this detector in my home inspections for a couple of years now. Recently gave readings of around 600 at a furnace supply vent so I reported it as "elevated C/O levels"

Seller had a HVAC specialist check and reported no C/O levels.

So now I don't trust it.......
          Will probably upgrade.

Comments about Professional Equipment Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Detector:

For the price I paid, it's not a bad unit. The Zero adjustment is nearly impossible to hold. I repair Residential Appliances and HVAC/R. Works fine for checking the CO level of a range and around vents and units to just make sure there are no major issues. If you have a need for a daily and accurate machine, get a more advanced unit. If you are just checking and being cautious, this will work just fine for you.

You get what you pay for. This unit was of such low quality that I immediately called for a Return Authorization Number. Spend a little more on a reliable and professional grade meter. This one isn't it.

Comments about Professional Equipment Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Detector:

My CO alarm went off periodically and I was never sure whether there was an issue with the battery or the unit was faulty of if there was an actual alarm condition. It turns out that the alarm was just very sensitive to CO levels and the only way for me to find this out was to get the CO detector. Now I can get accurate, detailed readings anytime I want. Definitely worth the price for piece of mind alone.
