Comments about Ridge Tool Company Ridgid® Soldering Gun, Mini-Pro Electric Unit:
First, the electric soldering gun heats the pipe with resistive heat so it is only working when you place it on the fitting, not like the Pipemaster Pro which is heating up when you are measuring, cutting, cleaning, fluxing pipe and the fitting.Second, the heads fit 3/8" to 1 1/2" copper pipe and fittings.Third, the handles have a spring that holds the handles on the fitting, not like the Pipemaster Pro which has a spring to open the handles. The only thing wrong with the RT-100 is its' price. Lincoln and Miller have welders that have a transformer, silicon rectifiers, fan, two controllers, and a wire feed motor and mechanism for well under the [$] price of this machine.
