Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

I have been using the ladder for over 5 years and its one of the best purchases I've ever made. I have never experienced the latch problems or breakage. Maybe the newer ladders are made differently, but it looks identical. No problems opeining and closing. Just try to keep dirt away from the sliding mechanism. I weigh 230 and never felt unsafe on it. Fits anywhere and is not very heavy. Nice product.

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

The ladder is heavy but more compact than the little giant I own and have used performing home inspections over the last 10 years. I will prefer my little giant as for ease of use and safety. The hand position during collapsing of the extending ladder is critical for safety of your hands. May try the smaller reaching ladder of 12.5' as this one may have reach but

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

I've been using this type of ladder in my home inspection business for over 2 years. The ladder is versatile and easy to use. Because of its adjustable height, it replaces the need for additional ladders. When I need to access second story roofs, it is very easy to use this ladder for that purpose. I've purchased three of these ladders over the past few years for my inspectors. One was to replace a ladder that was stolen. If it has one down side it is that "everybody loves it." So keep your eyes on it!

Relatively light weight. Easy to get into tight spaces. A little sketchy when stretched all the way out.

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

While I like the versatility of the ladder and the ability to carry it in the back of my SUV with no problems, I'm concerned with the quality, especially for the price it costs. I've had the ladder less than 2 months. I went to close it yesterday and one of the plastic pieces that is pushed to lower the rungs popped off. I could not get it back in properly AND I could not close the ladder properly. Now I have to fit it into the SUV diagonally. I am in the process of having this defect addressed by Professional Equipment and look forward to using the fixed ladder for years to come.

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

The ladder is easy to transport, easy to store, and extends fully in 2 seconds. The problem comes when it is time to close it down. The collapsing system works generally; however, when fully extended, it requires two people to collapse it - one to manipulate the latches and a second to push each rung shut. The reason is that it is too tall and unwieldy when fully extended to use gravity to close the rungs as advertised and so we have to put the ladder on the ground and close it sideways. - Still, we don't regret the purchase.

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

This was the first extension ladder that I had ever bought, and I was completely satisfied! I had read many reviews on different extension ladders, and I was a little leary on buying one. None-the-less, I buckled up and purchased this one. I had been using a cheaper version of a popular multi-functional ladder, and didn't have many complaints outside of the weight and awkwardness of its use. Other reviews on telescoping ladder's in general were pretty good, outside of its functional-ability when it gets wet. I was surprised, the first time I used it, it was raining outside, and I had absolutely not problems: it operated very smoothly, with no binding or grabbing. This ladder is a definite plus to my home inspection business and I will happily use it again and again. The wide stance of the base feet, and extra gripper "bumps" on the feet made it a very stable ladder to climb. I weigh 245 pounds and it was very stable when climbing and it didn't feel like it was going to collapse on me either!Highly recommended! [...]

Comments about Core Distribution Telescoping Ladder, Xtend & Climb Type 1 - 15.5 Ft.:

The latch buttons on this type of ladder came out in several places not more than two months after I purchased it. The company did replace the ladder with a new one, but now, a year later another latch button has come out and so I am in the same boat again. It appears that the latch buttons are held in place with glue, which is a very poor way to assemble it.

I have owned mine for four years and once I got used to the latch mechanism, (I was pinched a few times) I really fell in love with it. Everyone always asked me about it. It has really become a conversation piece. It under-performs when it is really cold or when it gets wet. After four years I've had to lube it once. It has been virtually maintanence free. My next one will be the 15 footer to compliment the 12 footer I own now.
