The video left me with the impression that infrared cameras are of pretty limited use in areas of interest to me, such as finding points of thermal infiltration. At minimum, it seems that for some applications, the infrared camera should not be employed on "nice weather" or in the case of looking for sources of cold, don't rely on outside scans, since radinat energy from the sun is likely to obscure results.
THe video covered the basics at a pretty high level, but seemed to cover a lot of the same territory in drawing seeming distinctions about the type of housing exterior.
Perhaps the unsaid message is that the "science of thermography" and even the experience of the operator may not prove particularly decisive in correct diagnosis. Indeed, probably the most important thing is prior knowledge of apparent symptoms.
