Hand-held concrete moisture meter reads average moisture content to a depth of approximately 1⁄2". No need to penetrate the surface, as this meter has pads that transmit low frequency signals below the surface. While concrete under normal conditions can never be completely dry, the instrument has been calibrated on acceptably dry material. It compares the change in impedance caused by the presence of water and displays moisture content on an analog scale. Includes leather pouch and 9V battery.
