Features & Applications:

This Combustible Gas Leak Detector features an easily adjustable audio/visual tic rate that helps pinpoint gas leaks by increasing as the sensor tip approaches the source of the leak, and then decreasing as it moves away. Its semiconductor sensor responds instantaneously to all combustible gases. A flashing LED also alerts you to a leak, and a 'tip light' in the sensor can be used to better illuminate the gas leak area. A long, flexible gooseneck and sensor cap enables you to use the gas leak detector in hard to reach areas.

The lightweight design enables this gas leak detector to be used in one hand and the low power, solid-state sensor provides operation for two years! The Combustible Gas Leak Detector is equipped with an earphone jack and protective boot to prevent damage. A clip enables convenient storage.

I have purchased three of these detectors for my inspectors. All of them suffer from poor quality and are not durable enough for daily use. The on/off/volume control wheel has become stripped on each unit leaving the unit unusable. We've had to open them and epoxy the wheel in place.

I use this tool on a regular basis and I would recommend it to anyone. Although it is only specified as a "combustible leak detector," I have used it to detect non-combustible refrigerant leaks as well.

It is very easy to use, just turn the wheel then wait a couple seconds for the clicking sound to slow down to about two clicks a second. Then you point to check for leaks if it detects any it will begin to buzz.

I don't think this model is as good usability-wise as the TIF model that I used, but it accurately performs the jobs that I need. What impressed me about this model was the broad range of gasses that it would detect, and the low threshholds. I am very happy with this robust product.
