After reading the warning and disclaimer label, I wasn't sure if I bought a pair of safety glasses or Bob the Builder toy glasses. I understand Uvex has legitimate liability concerns, and they have to list all of the ways these glasses should not be used, but exactly how well will these glasses protect my eyes from flying debris? I don't plan on using them for BB gun shootouts like when I was 14, but will they stop a dremel cutting wheel should it break apart? Clarity is very good when looking dead straight, but distorts at the edges of the lenses. The distortion is a bit disorienting when you glance to the side, because of this, I would never use them as sunglasses. You can't beat the price though, and they are the best looking most comfortable safety glasses I have ever owned, I trust the Uvex name, and I expect decent protection from these glasses, but I just wish the warning label was more reassuring.

I use these as my standard sunglasses as well as safety glasses. I wear them hiking, kayaking, sailing and while motorcycling (I use the clear version while riding at night) as well as during yard work or in any dusty conditions. They fit the curve of my face and eye sockets perfectly providing just the right amount of seal to keep out flying debris while still allowing sufficient air flow to stay comfortable and fog-free. I can wear a very small pair of progressive lenses underneath them when needed for close-up work. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because I broke a few pairs of the framed version right at the nose-bridge (I'm rough on stuff) but it was an easy fix with a few turns of black electrical tape and they're good as new. They're easy to clean with a small drop of dish detergent and water, and they can be buffed with white rouge (used for removing scratches from plastic watch crystals) if they get scratched. Highly recommended...at such a reasonable price I keep a few extra pairs handy!
