This Werner Extra Heavy Duty Step Stand is a perfect step stool for industrial or commercial applications, and is designed for improved stability, safety, and durability. The step stool features a gentle front incline that makes it easy to climb, and a steep rear rail incline so it can be placed close to the work area. The broad, deep steps provide slip resistance and added comfort, and the extra large 6-inch foot pads allow you to use the step stool even on floor gratings. This Type 1A Step Stand is rated for 300 pounds, but is about 40-percent lighter than comparable steel models.
The locking spreader ships folded, but then stays permanently open for greater stability, safety, and durability. Werner Step Stands are made in the USA and meet ANSI and OSHA standards. This 3-step stool has a maximum standing height of 30 inches, is 18-3/4 inches wide and has a 27-1/2" spread. The top is 9 by 14 inches and the steps are 6 inches deep.

I bought this step ladder for mounting a large horse. It was much more portable than your typical horse mounting step. I do LOVE IT! It will come in handy for lots of other things as well. Very sturdy! The only con it has is once you open it all the way it PERMAMENTLY LOCKS IN PLACE! Why? That makes it inconvient. I simply don't open it completly, it is so strong and sturdy that you can get away with that(good thing)and if you do open into the locking position you can open it back up with a screw driver. However, it sure would have been nice if it was designed to close again on it's own. Whoever heard of a step ladder you can't close back up? Overall I am very happy with it.
