This digital residential solar gain low-e detector has the ability to recognize the location of low-e coatings on residential windows and at the same time can pin point the solar gain performance category of the coating. The solar gain value is identified in one of three ranges, high, medium or low. The determining factor of the range is the solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) taken from the center of the window. The ranges fit into the Department of Energy (DEO) and the Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) Energy Star Program.

• Measures transparent residential windows with 3/32" or 1/8" of glass
• Results appear on the 2-line LCD screen
• Distinguish hard coat and soft coat LOW-E
• Calculate the approximate SHGC value of the window
