This (MIG) laser glass thickness gauge measures glass and air space thickness in sealed, insulating glass units. Measurements are taken from a single side of the IG unit. The laser reflects off the glass surface and bounce back appearing on the graduated scale of the gauge. The reflection of the laser allows the user to determine the thickness of the glass. It also allows the user to figure out the air space separating the pieces of glass in a sealed IG assembly. The measurement of glass thickness, air space, overall IG thickness, individual panes of glass in a laminated assembly, triple pane assemblies and even the thickness of mirrors can be measured with this gauge.
